We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Accountant to oversee all financial operations at the brand-new Hampton by Hilton Venice Isola Nuova. In this crucial role, you will lead our team in managing budgets, optimizing financial performance, and ensuring compliance, all while contributing to the overall success of the hotel. Your expertise will be essential in enhancing profitability, streamlining processes, and driving strategic financial initiatives that elevate guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage and reconcile all hotel accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Ensure compliance with the local tax and financial accounting requirements.
- Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by law corporate policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting practices
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing and payment processing.
- Conduct monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare budget forecasts and financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Monitor hotel revenues and expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support operational efficiency.
- Assist in the audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Plan and control payments of the hotel, control cash circulation inside the hotel, confirm bank transfers
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in hotel accounting and financial management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel management systems is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Knowelage of relevant regulations and compliance standards in the hospitality sector.
- Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for financial improvement.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Fluency in English.
- Education: higher in the field of finance, accounting or economics.
